Written by Ronan Blaney and directed by Michael Lennox, ‘Boogaloo and Graham’ is set in 1970's Belfast and follows two young boys, Jamesy and Malachy, who are over the moon when their soft-hearted dad presents them with two baby chicks to care for. Raising their tiny charges, declaring themselves vegetarian and dreaming of running a chicken farm, the two boys are in for a shock when their parents announce that big changes are coming to the family.
The film stars Martin McCann (Clash of the Titans, The Pacific) as Father, Charlene McKenna (Breakfast on Pluto, Ripper Street) as Mother and two up and coming actors, Aaron Lynch and Riley Hamilton as the boys.
Director Michael Lennox is a hugely talented Northern Irish filmmaker who has previously directed the half hour TV drama ECLIPSE for Touchpaper/Channel 4 before gaining a scholarship to study an MA in Fiction Directing at the NFTS. His short THE BACK OF BEYOND won the Premio Pianific prize at Locarno Film Festival and was the short film nominee for the European Film Awards. His debut feature as director, PATCH OF FOG finished principal photography on October 2014. Brian J. Falconer has worked as an independent film producer in Belfast for eight years.
Originally from an engineering background, Brian is a highly motivated, organised filmmaker who is able to pass on his energy and enthusiasm to co-collaborators, cast and crew alike. Boogaloo and Graham has received critical acclaim since its release, winning a special mention at the 26th Galway Film Fleadh,the Best World Short (Ireland) at the Savannah Film Festival and having its international Premier at the Toronto International Film Festival 2014.
